Elon Musk took to his Twitter once again to offer an update on yet another company project. The Boring Company’s bricks could be on their way, the CEO hinted.
Musk initially tweeted that his digging and tunnel company the Boring Company wouldn't just transport cars from one end of town to another. The cars would travel into residential areas as well, "all the way into your garage," Musk said.

He followed that inital announcement up by saying the Boring Brick Store would open up in less than two months. The reusable bricks, made out of dirt dug up due to the company's digging practices, will start at 10 cents a brick.
However, true to his word, Musk said he would make the bricks free if they were being used in affordable housing projects.

Musk also reassured followers that there would be a discounted rate for people using the bricks to have affordable family housing.

The CEO has already teased the functionality of the Boring Bricks by using them to build a podium at a SpaceX hyperloop speed contest on July 22.
Expanding the idea of making bricks
Rebuilding bricks isnt a new idea. There have been several civil engineering projects in recent years that recycled dirt dug up elsewhere in the projects, Crossrail, a project in London to build a 13-mile tunnel alongside its railway, managed to save 98 percent of material away from the landfill.
There was also another digging and building project called Second Avenue Subway in New York City. Dirt from its creation went to make a golf course in the Bronz. The rest went to a New Jersey plant, and New Yorkers were encouraged to build using more environmentally friendly, older materials.
Musk’s social media usage has been quite the roller coaster in recent weeks. The Tesla CEO’s recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast led to a dip in Tesla’s stocks after Musk shared a joint with the host.
Musk also ran into hot water after continually ranting on Twitter about a rescue diver who helped get out the trapped boys in Thailand. Musk repeatedly called him a pedophile, and most of the animosity stemmed from previous comments the diver had made about the inefficiencies of Musk's help in the situation.
